One of the features on iOS 11 is the picture-in-picture mode, which will let you multitask as long as the application that you use to stream video is compatible with the feature. To try it, open a video on a compatible video player or streaming app and the Picture-In-Picture Mode will be activated automatically while you watch the video. Now tap on the Home button to see the app minimized to a small window to the right side of the screen. If you tap on the video, you can see three buttons on the app – one to take the video to full screen, second to play/pause, and last to stop the video. The video will continue to play on the minimized screen, allowing you to multitask on iPad tablets.
Besides, if you have an iPad Pro, iPad Mini 2, or iPad Air, you could use the Dock option to open two apps and run them simultaneously. For that, slide up from the bottom edge of your device with the first application open. If you slide to the middle of the screen, then the task manager opens on your iPad, so slide your finger over the screen a wee bit to reveal the Dock. You can see all the apps that you have docked alongside the three recently used iOS applications here.
The applications that support split-screen multitasking will be shown with a horizontal rectangle around their icons. However, if there is a square window around the app’s icon, then the app is not compatible with the split-screen mode. So, when you open the app will launch in full-screen mode.
The iOS will also let you switch between apps through the task manager. Slide your finger from the bottom edge of your iPad to the middle of the screen to access the task manager. Swipe right-to-left or left-to-right to switch between recently used apps; tap on an app to bring that to full-screen mode. The iOS 11 has arrived with new features, and all you need to do to get the update is connect your iPad to a wireless network. Multitasking with iOS 11 will make the compatible iPad tablets more productive so try to get the update by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update.
